GERMAN Rail (DB) concluded the procurement of new rolling stock for the Nuremberg S-Bahn network on March 29, when Mr Hansrüdiger Fritz and chairman of DB Regio Bayern and Mr Jochen Sablon, head of regional transport for Alstom Germany, signed a contract for 27 Coradia Continental EMUs.
GERMAN Rail (DB) subsidiary DB Regio Bayern confirmed on January 4 that it will order new Alstom EMUs for the Nuremberg S-Bahn after the company was awarded both lots of a concession to continue operating the network beyond the expiry of its existing contract.
NUREMBERG Transport has awarded a consortium of Iftec, Germany, and Vossloh Kiepe a €5.1m contract to modernise its fleet of 14 GT6N and 26 GT8N trams, which were originally supplied by a consortium of Adtranz and Siemens in 1995-2000.
GERMAN Rail (DB) announced on August 10 that its subsidiary DB Regio has lodged an appeal at the regional high court in Munich against a ruling by Bavaria’s public procurement authority which upheld the decision by Bavarian Railway Company (BEG) to award two contracts for the operation of the Nuremberg S-Bahn network to National Express.
BAVARIAN Railway Company (BEG) confirmed on December 16 that it will conclude two contracts to operate the Nuremberg S-Bahn network with National Express after the regional high court in Munich ruled that the operator has provided sufficient financial performance guarantees in compliance with the terms of the original tender.
FOLLOWING a lengthy legal process, Bavaria's regional high court in Munich has ruled that Bavarian Railway Company (BEG) will not be allowed to finalise two contracts with National Express for the operation of the Nuremberg S-Bahn network without first establishing whether that the financial performance guarantees offered by the selected bidder meet the terms of the original tender.
BAVARIAN Railway Company (BEG), which is responsible for planning and financing regional and S-Bahn rail services in Bavaria, invites bids by October for a concession to operate the Nuremberg diesel rail network from June 2019 to June 2031. BEG will announce the winner in December.
FOLLOWING an international tender, the Bavarian Railway Authority (BEG) has selected National Express Rail, the German subsidiary of British rail and long-distance bus operator National Express, as preferred bidder for two 12-year contracts to operate the Nuremberg S-Bahn network.
