ILE-DE-FRANCE Mobility, Paris Transport Authority (RATP) and French National Railways (SNCF) have issued a call for tenders for a contract to supply up to 180 new trains to replace the fleet of MI 79/84 (Z8100/Z8400) EMUs used on Paris RER Line B.
ILE-de France Mobility, which is responsible for public transport in the Paris region, has unveiled the design for its fleet of RER New Generation (NG) trains which form part of its ambitious plans to replace or renovate more than 700 trains between 2016 and 2021.

THE board of Ile-de-France transport authority Stif has adopted a strategy to accelerate the modernisation of suburban trains in the Paris area, allocating €8.5bn towards the renewal and refurbishment of rolling stock over the next five years.
THE first major contract for the €3.7bn western extension of Paris RER Line E was awarded on February 10, when French National Railways (SNCF) president Mr Guillaume Pepy and Siemens president Mr Joe Kaeser signed a €186m contract for the rollout of CBTC on the core section of the east-west line.
