THE European Investment Bank (EIB) and Rotterdam Electric Tram (RET) have signed a €120m loan agreement to support investment in new Bombardier metro trains and to renew signalling and safety systems on the metro network.

MRDH, the regional public transport authority in The Hague and Rotterdam, has directly awarded Rotterdam Electric Tram (RET) a 10-year contract to operate and maintain Rotterdam's tram and metro networks.

ROTTERDAM Electric Tram (RET) has exercised a €30m option with Bombardier for six additional three-car Flexity Swift light metro trains as part of a project to increase capacity on Randstandrail Line E.

THE municipality of Rotterdam and Rotterdam's public transport authority, Rotterdam City Region, have agreed to retain Rotterdam Electric Tram (RET) as the operator of metro, tram, bus and boat services in the Rotterdam area until 2026.
