ALGERIA’s minister of public works Mr Abdelghani Zalene officially opened the new Algiers Agha station for Algerian National Railways (SNTF) long-distance services on March 2, at an event which also marked the launch of SNTF’s new fleet of Alstom Coradia Polyvalent inter-city trains.
ALGERIAN National Railways (SNTF) and Alstom have unveiled interior and exterior designs for a new fleet of Coradia Polyvalent bi-mode (diesel and 25kV ac electric) multiple units, which will be introduced on services from Algiers to Oran, Annaba, Constantine and Bechar from January 2018.
ALSTOM, Algiers Metro Company (EMA), Ferrovial, and Algerian National Railways (SNTF) signed a framework agreement in Algiers on April 10 to expand their Cital joint venture to assemble Alstom Coradia Polyvalent regional and inter-city multiple units at its Annaba plant in eastern Algeria.
ALGERIAN National Railways (SNTF) and Stadler Rail are set to establish a joint venture company in Algeria under a memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed by the two companies in Algiers on November 10 in the presence of Algeria's minister of transport Mr Boudjnâ Talai and Swiss secretary of state for the economy Mrs Marie-Gabrielle Ineichen-Fleisch.
ALGERIAN National Railways and Systra signed a memorandum of understanding to create an Algerian rail engineering joint venture at a meeting of the Algerian-French Economic Joint Committee (Comefa) on October 26, which was attended by Mr Laurent Fabius, French foreign and international development minister, and Algerian industry and mines minister Mr Abdeslam Bouchouareb.
ALMOST a year after it was selected as preferred bidder, Alstom confirmed on July 29 that it has signed a contract worth around €200m to supply 17 six-car Coradia Polyvalent bi-mode (diesel and 25kV ac electric) multiple units to Algerian National Railways (SNTF).
