Tendering for Taiwan high-speed extension to begin in April
TAIWAN High Speed Rail Corporation (THSRC) will launch a tender for the construction of a 17.5km southern extension to its 349km Taipei - Kaohsiung route in April, according to Taiwanese premier, Mr Su Tseng-chang.

TAIWAN has approved a $NT 4.18bn ($US 139.5m) project to construct a 3km line to connect Changhua County high speed station with Tianjhong station and upgrade the Jiji branch line in neighbouring Nantou County.

Taoyuan Airport stations signalling and communications contract awarded
A consortium including Siemens, ST Engineering and BES Engineering Corporation has been awarded a contract to deliver the signalling and communications systems for two new stations at Taiwan’s Taoyuan Airport Terminal 3.
