Finland trials 830m freight train
FINNISH freight operator VR Transpoint piloted operation of an 830m 6000-tonne freight train consisting of 66 wagons and two Siemens Vectron locomotives at the end of March, a development which VR hopes will improve the flow of rail freight from Russia.

Finland pilots condition-based maintenance for points
VR FleetCare and the Fairway Agency have launched a pilot project to collect data on switch malfunctions with the goal of reducing the more than 5000 point failures reported across Finland’s rail network every year.
