The project forms part of an initiative to transform TER’s processes and tools, with the goal of building transport plans to meet the needs of the regions and travellers.

The Hastus solution is used by operators including MTA in New York, Keolis Commuter Services in Boston, Queensland Rail in Australia, Belgian national Railways (SNCB) and Arriva in Denmark. Giro already provides the software for train and crew scheduling and planning for SNCF’s commuter trains on the Transilien network in Paris, as well as TGV InOui services.

“This project is fundamental to TER’s business,” says TER managing director, Mr Frank Lacroix. “It will ensure that our service offer is delivered as a robust offer, optimised in economic terms.”

“We have increased our research and development efforts in the rail sector significantly in recent years to design solutions that respond to the specific challenges facing rail operators,” says Giro president and CEO, Mr Jean Aubin.
