LITHUANIAN Railways (LTG) has chosen Berlin-based IVU Traffic Technologies to supply its IVU.rail software suite to plan and dispatch its entire vehicle fleet and personnel scheduling.

The software will be used to fully digitise workflows and optimise vehicle and duty schedule planning. In addition, the IVU.pad mobile app will enable the integration of drivers into the dispatch process.

IVU will assume responsibility for the operation, hosting and support of the cloud-based system through a Software as a Service (SaaS) model via the IVU.cloud.

The adoption of IVU.rail is part of a programme of improvements being carried out by LTG, which also includes new electric rolling stock, digital ticketing, track infrastructure improvements and new international services

“This system is one of the most important digitalisation projects for the company,” says Mr Linas Baužys, CEO of LTG Link. “It will be used for planning train journeys and staff workload. The system will enable coordination of train schedules and routes, planning and allocation of trains, generation of staff working schedules as well as prompt implementation of any changes required. This solution will allow the company to analyse everyday operations and increase efficiency by taking away the burden of manual activities and excessive paperwork.”
