The FiberinMotion system will be deployed across 120km of the Merseyrail network in Liverpool, Britain, and will enable transmission of multiple services including CCTV, Wi-Fi and public information systems.

The solution incorporates three primary elements: the transport base stations (TBS), transportation mobile units (TMUs), and a suite of management and monitoring tools.

The TBSs are deployed along the railway to provide continuous coverage and connectivity to rolling stock. Each TBS is deployed with multiple antennas and operates in auto Diversity/Multiple Input, Multiple Output (MIMO) modes.

The TMUs are installed on-board the trains and are connected to designated antennas to provide continuous communications with the nearest TBS.

The system operates in near and non-line-of-sight (nLOS/NLOS) conditions and in environments where there is high interference, and provides a connection with speeds of up to 750Mbps per train.
