The six-month beta test will be trialled by 2000 users, and will incorporate a route planner and digital ticketing across a dozen transport options. This will allow passengers to combine multiple modes of transport into a single trip, providing better first and last mile coverage.

The new application will incorporate all stages of trip preparation, including planning, reservation, real-time monitoring and proposals for alternative routes. This will allow the users to compare different modes of transport and pick the best combination for their journey.

To pay for the tickets, other than car-sharing charges, users will be directed to each operator’s individual application. However, RATP and Ile-de-France are aiming to incorporate all functions, including payment, into the single application in future.

The beta test is RATP’s third test of MaaS applications across its network, after it launched similar projects in Annemasse and Angers in February and September.
