During the “unified digital platform” panel discussion at the 12th International Forum “Transport of Russia” in Moscow on November 20, RZD chairman and director general, Mr Oleg Belozerov, said that the goals set out by the president, Mr Vladimir Putin, in May are impossible without reliance on scientific and technical developments, modern IT solutions, and digitalisation.

Belozerov also listed a number of key goals RZD is aiming to achieve by 2025, including increasing the use of electronic tickets for long-distance passenger services by up to 70%.

RZD is also implementing a project to improve digital services for passengers which will include a variety of online facilities such as planning and providing door-to-door services and booking and purchasing tickets for multi-modal travel.
