THE technology is housed in a space-saving and robust casing installed directly next to the track. Using big data, artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning, wagons, wheel profiles, brake blocks, wheel flats, hazardous goods and other characteristics are detected at any line speed, and wagons are checked for any kind of damage. Customers can then access the processed data in a user-friendly way via an API interface or RailWatch portal.
Customers include operators, freight wagon keepers and rail-connecting industrial sites. Through “data as a service,” RailWatch supports predictive maintenance and liability transfer, and assists with faster and more efficient train dispatching. RailWatch not only provides condition data to customers, but also makes recommendations for action.
