The supplier says Foresee will enable operators and fleet owners to transition to condition-based maintenance by providing a condition assessment and lifecycle prediction for key components.
Trials of the technology have already taken place with traction motors, converters, high voltage components and running gear. As well as component condition, the platform can oversee the management and execution of a comprehensive maintenance plan, which considers asset history and available personnel and spare parts, helping to optimise resources allocated to maintenance.
With around 4400 trains already in service, the supplier says the platform can support the rapid expansion of urban rail transport in China by replacing traditional planned preventative repair methods, which are struggling to keep up with demand.
