The project will initially involve equipping a 48km Dublin Area Rapid Transit's (Dart) line as a pilot project, but could be expanded to cover the entire 1919km national network. Kapsch will install a network subsystem which is based on IP 3GPP release 4 technology, a base station subsystem, a service control point, and base transceiver stations. The system will also have services for data and GPRS.
