During trials with trains travelling at up to 200km/h, network speeds reached up to 80Mb/s per train, with data transfer remaining constant in both large open areas and tunnels.

To reduce the cost of the network and make it robust, small wireless devices were installed on the outside of the train which could withstand the strong air flow. In addition, on-board video surveillance and alarm buttons are linked to a shared monitoring centre.

Passengers will benefit from high-speed internet access and stable voice communications using their mobile phones. InfiNet Wireless says the system is designed to provide an interactive automatic system to monitor and register tickets and to connect trains to a data transfer network.
