Italy: A tender for 15 diesel-electric trains has been issued by the Ministry of Sustainable Infrastructure, Directorate-General for Local Public Transport, and Circumetnea Railway (FCE). The contract, worth €113.7m, will cover the supply, commissioning and maintenance of the trains, which will be used on the FCE’s 960mm-gauge railway. The contract duration is  for 96 months. The deadline for registering is September 3.

Argentina: Argentinian Trains has launched a tender for two 1676mm-gauge diesel-electric locomotives to operate inter-urban and long-distance passenger services. The tender stipulates a prototype will be delivered, followed by a second locomotive around six months later. Bids must be received by July 20.

Austria: Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB) wants to buy or lease a minimum of 25 coaches and four EMUs up to 150m long. A tender notice issued in late May states the second-hand stock will be used in Austria but there could be an option to run them into Germany. They need to be able to operate at 160km/h with the option for 200km/h. Ideally open-plan, the tender notice calls for a total capacity of around 2000 seats. The rolling stock is needed for at least one year, with delivery required immediately. The closing date for bids is July 15.

Austria: Salzburg Transport Authority is tendering for a 10-year contract for the operation of the Salzburger Local Railway (SLB). This will cover the area of Salzburg Main Station - Ostermiething including any new extensions - new are lines planned from Salzburg Main Station to Salzburg Messezentrum and there will be a new station at Hallein. The contract starts on July 1 2022, with the deadline for expressions of interest July 8.

Estonia: Aktsiaselts Tallinn City Transport has issued a tender for eight trams via public procurement. The deal must also include an option for a further 15 trams. The contract will take 80 months to deliver, with the deadline to register interest being July 22.

Georgia: Georgian Railway is tendering for new locomotives, rolling stock and associated spare parts. According to the tender notice, the new trains must be ready 250 days after the signing of the contract. The deadline for expressions of interest is July 6.

Poland: DB Cargo Polska is selling redundant locomotives. Thought to be ageing electric locomotives, the registration for interest is July 5.

Spain: A tender is underway for a contract to operate the Chiclana de la Frontera - San Fernando - Cádiz line. The deadline for bids is September 19.
