The tender will be a two-stage competitive procedure and the deadline for first-stage application submissions is November 30.

The CCS-Engineering Services contract will cover the following activities, which will support the successful deployment of CCS subsystems:

  • preparation of specifications for procurement of the design and construction works
  • assistance during evaluation of the technical proposals
  • supervision of design and construction works, and
  • supervision of testing and commissioning.

The contract is a prerequisite for the full CCS subsystems contract, which will support full operation and will include supply of a traffic management system, interlocking and ETCS trackside systems, transmission and communication, radio, and power supply systems.

“Our plan is to ensure a single and interoperable CCS solution on the entire 870km Rail Baltica line,” says Mr Kaido Zimmermann, RB Rail’s interim chief technical officer.

Rail Baltica is a 870km standard-gauge rail project which aims to provide a continuous rail connection between Poland and the three Baltic States of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania.
