Lankhorst will supply its KLP hybrid polymer sleepers, which are manufactured using a high-grade ductile polymer made from 100% recycled plastic, which encases reinforcing steel bars.
According to the manufacturer, the sleepers are a “sustainable and maintenance free” alternative to wood and concrete sleepers with high strength, impact-resistance and damping properties. KLP sleepers have an anticipated lifespan of more than 50 years.
Lankhorst says it has already supplied KLP sleepers for projects in the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Austria, Germany, Sweden, Switzerland, Britain, Gabon, Malaysia and Mexico.
