The acquisition, which is taking place through Engie subsidiary Engie Ineo, is subject to approval by European competition authorities.
Powerlines specialises in the design, installation and maintenance of electrification systems, focussing largely on central European markets with operations in German-speaking countries, Britain and Scandinavia. The company employs more than 1000 staff across its international operations.
Financial terms of the transaction have not been disclosed.
