MR Pier Eringa resigned as CEO of Transdev Netherlands with immediate effect on March 6 2021, citing a lack of support to enable passenger transport to recover to pre-pandemic levels.

Eringa says the Covid-19 pandemic has resulted in a negative environment for public transport in the Netherlands and that the Dutch government is not providing enough support to allow the sector to entice passengers back.

Eringa joined the company in 2019 having previously served as CEO of Dutch infrastructure manager ProRail, and was tasked with developing Transdev's offer in the Netherlands. However, he says that current conditions mean he cannot fulfil these objectives.
