The agreement was signed on October 21 by MWM general director, Mr Boris Bogatyrev, and Baku Metro chairman, Mr Zaur Huseynov. The fleet will be delivered between 2020 and 2023. MWM has already delivered eight five-car trains to Baku Metro between 2018 and 2019.

The doors on the 81-765.4B/-766.4B series trains are wider than the original trains, with barrier free access throughout the train. The train is also fitted with a light warning system to indicate door opening and closing, along with HVAC and power sockets. The driving cars have spaces for passengers in wheelchairs, pushchairs and bicycles.

A special colour scheme has been developed for Baku Metro, along with a new headlight design, while the passenger information system has also been modified.
