The new 200km/h coaches feature more comfortable seats, air-conditioning, passenger information systems and self-contained toilets. The trains are also equipped with mobile phone signal amplifiers and Wi-Fi, while each seat has an electrical outlet and individual lighting.

The order includes two first-class compartment coaches, nine second-class compartment coaches and nine second-class open saloons. The order also includes three second-class saloons equipped with eight bike hangers, and three second-class compartment coaches designed for passengers with limited mobility.

The coaches will be used for Express InterCity (EIC) services on the routes:

  • Warsaw - Krakow
  • Zakopane - Gdynia
  • Kołobrzeg/Gdynia - Bielsko-Biała
  • Kołobrzeg/Gdynia - Warsaw
  • Warsaw - Zielona Góra
  • Warsaw - Szczecin
  • Warsaw - Berlin
  • Gdynia - Berlin
  • Krakow - Berlin, and
  • Gdynia/Warsaw - Vienna.

Delivery of all 81 new coaches will take place by February 2022, with the first due next year.

PKP Intercity is currently implementing the largest investment programme in the history of the company, worth up to Zlotys by 2023.
