Among the upgrades is the addition of a new hall with three 200m-long servicing tracks for SBB inter-city trains. These trains will now be serviced and cleaned in three-hour intervals alongside the approximately 100 Domino, GTW and Flirt regional trains already served on three 80m-long stabling tracks at the facility every week.
SBB has also invested in improvements to track infrastructure as well as logistics systems and social facilities at the site and in the preservation of the historic part of the building. The project has created 50 new jobs.
