The contract was signed by Mr Sergey Aksenov, Crimea’s head of government, on November 30.

The 1000mm-gauge LRVs have an individual unit value of Roubles 28m-30m ($US 381,500 - $US 408,750), with the total cost of the contract expected to amount to Roubles 756m-810m.

The vehicles are 14.7m long and 2.2m wide and have a maximum speed of 75km/h with a capacity for 179 passengers. The LRVs have been tested in the city since October 2019.

According to Aksenov, UVZ has been a long-term partner in Crimea for several years, primarily contributing to military-industrial projects.
