The new locomotive will replace four 40-year-old T448 series units. Extensive tests of the EffiShunter 600 unit by Mondi confirmed that the unit meets emissions requirements and offers significant noise reduction compared with the existing locomotives.
Mondi transports around 40% of its products and raw materials by rail.
