Account Manager North America- Railway Business Unit, NA

Reporting to:  Director of Sales – Railway Business Unit NA
Location: Open, preferably Chicago area or East to include Mid-Atlantic States.
         
Main purpose of the role:
 
Reports to the Director of Sales Railway Business Unit NA and is responsible for Railway commercial and technical clients in the market affected by the activities of the Railway Sales Unit and is entrusted to the results of this activity. Works to implement business strategies to achieve profitable business relationships and initiate new revenue opportunities with major accounts.
Key responsibilities:
 
  • Develops and proposes the annual commercial budget strategy and its business sector by client for respective areas of responsibility.
  • Meet with, prospect, and contact customers of the segment they are in charge of, managing each business responsibility from a technical, commercial, and financial point of view to include coordination of financial account requirements (A/R’s).
  • Follows strategy as outlined by Business Unit for account development to ensure positive long term Customer relationships.
  • Research and develop new customers and / or new products according to the rules (NMO, NCO) across platforms.
  • Cooperate effectively and efficiently with the Platform Development Managers to develop value added offers.
  • Prepares tenders/offers together with profitability evaluation and manages revision of contracts, referring - as necessary - to the head of Sales for the Business Unit.
  • Negotiates business specifications relative to market conditions and set Business Unit objectives by ensuring responsible technical solutions and a responsible return.
  • Investigate solutions, activities or new products to be offered under the strategy of the Business Unit and the defined platforms.
  • Track and document projects and development of their business responsibilities through appropriate tools and reporting formats.
  • Keep Management of the Unit apprised of current situation on the market, with a detailed account within the files, projects or important situations, following sales statistics and ICP results.
  • Participates in Business Unit meetings, meeting also with other Segments or SKF departments and with Customers during audits or visits,
  • Follows the rules of Quality Assurance, SICS, 6 Sigma and Sales (AOSTA) training provided as part of his professional and personal development.
  • Develops and oversees the “Account Team' as the organization requires.
