The system comprises 28 stationary hybrid lifting jacks with bogie lifting beams and body supports which raise and hold the 117m-long trains at a height of 1.44m to grant engineers safe access underneath the train.

The system created by Pfaff Verkehrstechnik has the ability to lift trains either as one complete unit or individual coaches for maintenance purposes to an adjustable height.

The jacks can lift up to 280 tonnes of total weight and the supports can carry a load of up to 196 tonnes.

The jacks also feature additional, motor driven supports for holding up the car bodies. This makes it possible to lower individual bogies back onto the rails to roll them out from beneath the raised vehicle. LED lights are integrated into the lifting beams to ensure sufficient light and safety.
