The 42m-long low-floor bi-directional LRVs will replace 32.4m-long vehicles on Line T3 from November, providing additional capacity on the 14.6km route from Part-Dieu to Meyzieu. The new LRVs will accommodate up to 400 passengers, and their delivery will take Lyon's Citadis fleet to 86 vehicles.
Lyon adds capacity with longer Citadis
THE first of 12 high-capacity Citadis 402 LRVs for Lyon was formally handed over to Rhône-Lyon Joint Transport Authority (Sytral) president Mr Bernard Rivalta by Mr Hubert Peugeot, vice president, business development and sales for Alstom France, outside the city's Part-Dieu station on October 18.
