THE Corea consortium led by Eiffage Génie Civil has been awarded the first design-build contract for Line 15 East of the Grand Paris Express automated metro network, covering the section from Bobigny-Pablo Picasso to Champigny Centre.
The contract worth €2.54bn awarded by project company Société du Grand Paris (SGP) covers the construction of 17km of tunnel, 15 related rail structures and two entrance structures, and six new stations at Bobigny-Pablo Picasso, Pont de Bondy, Bondy, Rosny Bois-Perrier, Val de Fontenay and Nogent-Le Perreux.
Corea will also be responsible for tracklaying, and the installation of high and low-voltage systems as well as electro-mechanical equipment including heating, ventilation, air-conditioning, smoke extraction and fire safety systems.
The Corea consortium also includes eight architectural practices, which singly or in consortium will be responsible for the stations and other building projects along the line. This includes two property development projects at Bondy and Nogent-Le Perreux.
Architecturestudio will undertake work at Bobigny-Pablo Picasso station and the operations centre at Rosny-sous-Bois that will include a rolling stock stabling and maintenance facility and an infrastructure maintenance base.
Ar.thème Associés will be responsible for Bondy station and the section of Champigny Centre used by Line 15 East, where it will interchange with Line 15 South. A consortium of BIG and Silvio d’Ascia Architecture will design Pont de Bondy station on Line 15 East, with fbcc Architecture responsible for Nogent-Le Perreux.
LA/BA will also be involved in work on the Rosny-sous-Bois operations centre. Viguier will design the station at Rosny Bois-Perrier and Wilmotte & Associés Val de Fontenay station.
Construction will begin following a 15-month design phase, and will involve the participation of Eiffage Construction, Eiffage Énergie Systèmes and Eiffage Rail. Work is due to be completed for handover and commissioning in 2031.
