The order, which is being financed through a loan from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), has an estimated value of around €290m.

Tendering for the contract is expected to begin in the fourth quarter.

Earlier this year ENR ordered six sets of 160km/h coaches from Talgo in a €158m deal which was also financed by the EBRD.

In September 2018 ENR awarded Transmashholding’s Hungarian subsidiary a contract to supply up to 1300 coaches and signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Progress Rail for up to 50 diesel locomotives.
