The fleet will be used across the Spanish high-speed network for hauling infrastructure maintenance trains of up to 600 tonnes, snow plough duties and rescuing stranded passenger trains.
The 160km/h standard-gauge locomotives will be equipped with ETCS as well as the legacy Asfa train protection system.
The first two locomotives must be delivered within 36 months of contract signing, with Adif AV due to receive the entire fleet within 40 months.
The joint venture will be responsible for maintaining the fleet for eight years.
