The trains, which are capable of reaching a maximum speed of 180km/h, include dual signalling and power systems that enables them to operate in both between Sweden and Denmark. The latest contract is in addition to 100 Contessa trains already ordered by various customers in Sweden and Denmark, 90 of which are in service.
sweden_contessa.jpgBombardier will manufacture the propulsion equipment for the trains at its production site in Vasteras, Sweden. The coaches will be produced in Germany at Bombardier's Hennigsdorf and Gorlitz plants, while the bogies will be produced in Siegen.
