The measures apply to medium and long-distance trains comprising Frecce, InterCity, InterCity Night and regional trains and are designed to help protect passengers and staff.
The measures comprise:
- installation of hand-sanitiser dispensers on trains
- supply of protective equipment to staff such as masks with filters and disposable gloves
- enhanced disinfectant cleaning on board trains
- distribution of information from the Ministry of Health on monitors, leaflets and announcements to passengers on board trains
- cancellation of stops by all trains at Codogno and Casalpusterlengo stations, and
- reimbursement of fares for all passengers who decide not to travel.
To reduce exposure to the infection, FS is advising its staff to consult a doctor and stay at home if they are suffering from flu symptoms.
