Bombardier, who's share of the contract is Euros 27 million, will design, manufacture, supply, and install its EBI Lock 950 computer-based interlocking system and EBI control centre systems on the route on a turnkey basis. The project will be Pakistan's first electronic interlocking system and is the first of multiple signalling upgrade projects planned for the Karachi - Lahore line.

Interflo 200 signalling systems are already in operation on networks across the world including in Brazil, Bulgaria, Denmark, Germany, Italy, Sweden and Thailand. The system is typically introduced on busy, high-speed networks, where headways are reduced and higher safety levels are required.
