It involves building a single-track electrified line and two stations at Esto-Sadok and Alpika-Service. There will be nine rail tunnels totalling 12.3km, including two new tunnels on the existing line from Adler to Sochi which is being doubled. The service tunnels will total 9.5km.
The line is due to open in April 2013. A 2.8km rail link from Adler to Sochi Airport will also be built in time for the Olympics.
