SWEDEN's Västtrafik, which is responsible for public transport in the county of Västra Götaland, has awarded Bombardier a Euros 73 million contract for the supply of six three-car Regina emus. Set to be delivered in 2013, the latest order will take the total number of Reginas in Västraffik's fleet to 26.
Wider than conventional Swedish trains at 3450mm, Regina includes a 3+2 seating arrangement which increases train capacity by 25% to 294 seats in the three-car version.

"Thanks to their comfort and proven reliability, the Regina trains are high appreciated by our passengers," says Mr Lars Backström, Västtrafik's managing director. "As our region continues to experience strong passenger growth, we want to meet this demand with more of this type of train."
