Assembly will be carried out at Bombardier’s Thunder Bay facility with deliveries due to commence in autumn 2020.

The order, which will add more than 6000 seats to the Go Transit fleet, comprises 31 standard coaches and five vehicles which will be equipped for passengers with reduced mobility.

The fleet will be equipped with a real-time remote diagnostics system to aid maintenance.

The order comes at a time of increasing ridership on the commuter rail network in southern Ontario. Go Transit has increased weekday services by nearly 20% on the Lakeshore East, Lakeshore West, Barrie, Kitchener and Stouffville lines since June 2018.
