TCDD wants one train to be delivered ahead of the remaining six in order to test 300km/h operation on its two existing high-speed lines, sections of which are designed for 300km/h, but are currently operated by a fleet of 250km/h six-car CAF trains.

TURKISH State Railways (TCDD) plans to invite tenders within the next 40 days for its first 300km/h trains. It is negotiating a €180m loan from the Islamic Development Bank in order to procure a batch of seven trains.
