The announcement comes after both Netherlands Railways (NS) and Belgian National Railways (SNCB) asked Thalys to step in following the withdrawal of the AnsaldoBreda V250 trains used on Fyra services.

Services will be increased from nine to 11 trains per day in each direction, except on Fridays when there will be 13 Amsterdam – Brussels services.

Thalys has witnessed a surge in ridership since the Fyra service was suspended, and the two additional services will increase seating capacity by 17% between the two cities.
