The network will comprise a north-south line and an east-west line, with a shared section in the city centre.

The municipality plans to submit a funding application for the project to the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure by December. The state is expected to provide 50-60% of the funding required for the project, with FS financing the remainder.

Construction is expected to begin in 2020 with the first sections opening in 2023.
