Hitachi won the tender with a bid of €63.42m for the initial tranche of 30 vehicles, including spare parts worth €1.1m.

The contract, which is due to be signed in October, includes two options for a total of 40 additional LRVs. GTT and the city of Turin are seeking funding from the Italian Ministry of Transport which if approved would enable GTT to exercise both options.
