The 2km line connects Vukytsia Kviatenko, the current terminus of lines 2 and 6 with Barskoe Shosse on lines 2 and 4, and brings the residential district of Vyshenka onto the tram network.
Passenger operation is expected to begin on the five-station link before the end of September, when the existing routes will be revised to reflect the reconfiguration of the network. Lines 4 and 6 will both operate as loop lines to connect the city's main station with the new line, while Line 2 will cease operating.
