Under the contract awarded earlier this month, Systra will be responsible for supporting SGP in developing the definition of the programme, managing the tenders and overseeing construction of the two lines.

Grand Paris Express will enable residents of the Greater Paris area to travel more swiftly between areas that have little current access to public mass transit as well as create new opportunities for economic growth in the Greater Paris area.

Lines 15 East and 15 West will together serve 27 communes, covering 43km, and are forecast to carry 1 million passengers per day. Line 15 will eventually be 15km.

The technical project management contract started this month and will continue until the commissioning of the two lines, which is scheduled for 2030.
