The opening ceremony was led by the CEO of Macao Light Metro, Mr Cui Shian, accompanied by Macao’s Department of Transport and Works director, Mr Luo Liwen, and Mr He Jiangqi, chairman of Macau Light Metro.

The first passenger train departed from Taipa Ferry Terminal at 15.33 and Macao Light Metro is providing free travel for passengers until December 31.

The 9.3km line with 11 stations runs from Ocean in a U-shaped loop via Lotus Checkpoint and the airport to Taipa Ferry Terminal.
