The 51km line is now 89%-complete and the western section from Sungai Buloh to Semantan will open in December with the remainder of the line to Kajang due to begin operating by July 2017.
Services will operate at 3.5-minute intervals and the 31-station line is expected to carry around 445,000 passengers per day, bringing 1.2 million residents of the city within reach of the transit network.
