The event was attended by deputy governor of the Sverdlovsk Region, Mr Azat Salikhov, TMH director general, Mr Kirill Lipa, deputy director general for Urban Transport Development, Mr Andrei Vasilyev, Yekaterinburg mayor, Mr Alexander Vysokinsky, and head of the Ekaterinburg Metro, Mr Alexander Paniotidi.

The cars, which were delivered in March ahead of schedule, are equipped with vertical and horizontal stainless steel handrails, space for wheelchairs, a warning device to alert passengers to the doors closing, and a counter-clamping system, which automatically opens the doors if an obstacle is detected.

The forced ventilation system also operates in emergency mode, while the body is fitted with thermal and noise insulation. The CCTV system includes a feed to the driver, while the cab is 30% larger compared with previous models.

The trains are equipped with an automatic fire detection and extinguishing system which can also control axlebox heating. The trains can be operated in multiple with Yekaterinburg Metro’s existing fleet.
