The concession covers the 1537km line between Porto Nacional in the state of Tocantins and Estrela D’Oeste in São Paulo state. The line is considered to be one of the most important railways in Brazil and the backbone of the future rail freight network.

The minimum grant value was set at Reais 1.35bn ($US 350m), with payment of 5% of the value offered within 45 days of the approval of the auction. The remaining 95% will be paid in 120 quarterly installments. The auction is scheduled to take place at the São Paulo Stock Exchange on March 28 2019.
The operational capacity of the line should reach 22.73 million tonnes by the end of the 30-year concession.

The project requires an investment of Reais 2.7bn.
