Submissions for the application period, based on the Annual Work Plan 2019, will be accepted until June 18 2019. The call includes six topics open to S2R members and 12 which are open to non-JU members.

“After presenting some of our first results last year at InnoTrans, the programme is now in the final stages of bringing demonstrations closer to the market,” says S2R JU executive director, Mr Carlo Borghini. “I am also looking forward to the submission of high-quality proposals introducing innovative solutions to reshape the railway system in Europe, in order to bring more capacity, attractiveness and punctuality to this sustainable transport mode.”

The call includes €76.9m of indicative Horizon 2020 co-funding.

S2R announced on October 17 2018 that it would fund 19 projects worth €152.6m under its 2018 call for proposals.

S2R will host an information day on February 6 in Brussels, where representatives will explain the details of the call.
