The $US 201.9m Tempe Streetcar, a 4.8km streetcar with 14 stations and six vehicles designed to connect Tempe city centre, Arizona State University and existing light rail serving Phoenix, Mesa and the airport, will receive a $US 25m grant.

The $US 3.7bn Los Angeles Westside Purple Line Section 3 project, a 4.1km heavy rail extension from Century City to Westwood and the Veterans Affairs hospital that includes two stations and the procurement of 16 trains, will receive $US 100m.

The $US 2.17bn San Diego Mid-Coast Corridor light rail project is a 17.5km light rail extension from San Diego city centre to the University City area, which will improve access to employment hubs and education and medical facilities. The project will receive $US 80m in addition to a $US 1bn Full Funding Grant Agreement signed in September 2016.

The $US 128.7m Dallas Area Rapid Transit (Dart) Red and Blue Line platform extensions project to extend and modify platforms along the existing Red and Blue Lines to accommodate three-car trains with level boarding will receive $US 2m from the FTA.

The Minneapolis Orange Line Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) will receive $US 74m.
