FIRST Great Western (FGW) has awarded Nomad Digital a contract to install passenger WiFi on its fleet of 53 HST sets, which are used on long-distance services from London to southwest England and South Wales, together with the fleet of Mk 3 coaches used on overnight services between London and Penzance.
FGW has agreed to increase WiFi provision as part of its new 23 month franchise, which runs until September 2015.
Work will begin on equipping the HST fleet next May and is due to be completed by the end of next year, while Wi-Fi will be installed on the Night Riviera fleet by June 2014.
